UPDATE: Based on our experience from previous events, we are increasing the upgrade window to 2 hours. We will be sure to update the status page throughout the event. Please feel free to reach out to help@packet.net with any questions.

On Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 23:00 EDT, will migrate some of our x1.small.x86 server infrastructure in our IAD1 (Ashburn, VA) edge datacenter to new power feeds inside our facility. This work is being done to facilitate the further expansion of the Packet platform in this market, providing additional space and power capacity for additional growth. Servers will be without power for approximately (2) hours during this window. We have reserved a larger event window to allow for any additional work needed to restore services.

We will proactively disable Global BGP sessions approximately (10) minutes in advance of this work, allowing traffic to gracefully fail over to your infrastructure in other Packet data centers within the eastern United States region. In addition, server provisions will be suspended throughout our IAD1 datacenter locations for this event.

If you'd like to get a specific list of the servers of yours that will be impacted, feel free to reach out to us at help@packet.net or live chat from our customer portal (https://app.packet.net) with any questions.

Thanks,
Team @Packet
